Frys Electronics - Frys in austin not honoring their raincheck

On memorial day weekend, I went to frys to look at samsung ln52a750 TV. It was on sale for 2500. It was a great price, but they were out of stock so I asked for a raincheck. The sales person create one for me and wrote down the number for me on his card. I asked if i should get a copy and they said there is no need. 1 week later, I call frys to see if they had the tv in stock and they said no. I asked if my raincheck was still in the system and they said yes. I continue to call week after week to see if tv was in stock and if my raincheck was in system. Each time I was told that it's not in stock yet, but the raincheck was there. 5 weeks later, they said it was in stock so I rushed down to the store. When I get there, all the sales people were busy so I asked someone standing at the central desk they had in the tv section if he could help me. Turned out that he was the manager of that area. I asked if the tv was still in stock and he said yes and it's selling for 2899. I then told him I had a raincheck and gave him the number. He looks in the system and tells me I don't have a rain check. I asked him to check again since I have called every week for 5 week and was assured that it was there. After pounding on the keyboard for a while, he pulls it up and says the rain check was for 2899. I looked at the computer screen and notcied that the create date for the raincheck was today's date as opposed to Memorial's date. At this point I asked for another person to help me. He went and found the original sales person that gave me the raincheck. As they were walking back, I see the manager whisper something to the sales person. When the sales person gets back to the computer, I ask him to pull up the raincheck. He said his manager did that and it's for the same price. I told him the one he pulled up had today's date on it and ask him to try again. He refused even though I asked multiple times. He also said if I had a rain check they would have printed me a the receipt. The sales person pretty much refused to do anything except saying there was nothing he can do. I left the store and felt like frys purposely didn't want to pull up the raincheck becuase they figured that the tv was a hot item and they were selling like hot cakes at without the discounted price. There is no way that After calling every week for 5 weeks, suddenly the raincheck was not there.

its not illegal, the raincheck state that the price is only good for 30 days. In the raincheck policy it clearly states that the frys will gaurentee the price for 30 days but cannot gaurentee they will recieve the product within the alotted time.

That's called the old bait and switch. Call the attorney general for your state and report it to him, because that is illegal.

Frys Electronics - Fry's lie's

My mother board was fried twice on a fry's computer. They took over a month to fix it, said the part comes from Tiawan on a slow boat from china I bet. They don't give you anything for your grief, like a restaraunt gives you a free dessert if your meal ***. They yes you to death, and it doesn't matter who you talk to.They just say I'm sorry but you get NO SATISFACTION.Where are the owners? Do they know how many unsatisfied customers they have??! I own restaurants and I always try and please my customers. By the way this is the Houston store I'm talking about. Also, they hire idiots who don't know what part of the store the merchandise is located in. They have to call the managers to explain a simple return.Where are the owners?? and how does one get a hold of them??

Frys Electronics - Fry's treat $15 problem at customer $700 cost

On 5/21/08, my computer's power was suddenly off. I brought my computer to Fry's repair center for check out at priority service. After 6 days of painful waiting and $678.86 - ($364.87 refund) spending on the repairing + (software and harddrive after my harddrive was crashed by improper procedures). 75% of MY 7 YEARS VALUE DATA LOST, most of my kids from elementary school - middle school - High school pics lost by this improper handling of my computer. The MOST IMPOTENT ISSUE in this complaint is my computer power off coursed by A simple $15.00 POWER LINE problem, they did not advice me for this small failure, instead of they keep doing the service without backup my data and coursed my data permanent lost. I am writing to you for this issue, because I don't think a good business would do this to customer by not telling customer the simple course of the problem, instead of to make unreasonable money from this small problem at customer's painful cost.

power outtage can vary, from blowing out the power supply to shorting most everything inside. If everything got toasted, there's not that can be done.

I've never heard of a 'power line' problem - if the issue was with the Power Supply (most likely the cause of system shutting itself down) then as long as you have your old drive you should be able to recover your data - even if the drive was formatted as long as you didn't start writing data (or writing too much data) to it you should be able to recover it. Also - you're not going to find a power supply for $15.00. and if it was the cable running from the PS to the drive - unless it's a modular Power Supply you'd have to replace the whole PS anyway.

Frys Electronics - No resolution to computer problems Baseline & I-10

Computer has had problems since day one! Location - Baseline and I-10 in PHX. Have been in 6 times for same problem, all under the Product Service Contract. Replaced hard drive 4 times, and still doesn't work. Doesn't work for more than 1 week at a time. It's still in the shop. No resolution yet and have resorted to writing letter to the President of the company...Dear Randy. I am so frustrated at this point. Employees seem to think I am just a complainer and blame it all on me! I am at the end of my rope.

Frys Electronics - Fry's FRIED me too...

It is a simple thing - I ordered a cable that was essential to retrieving data I needed for work and specifically asked for Saturday delivery (I was working all weekend). They failed to deliver and frankly, appeared to could have cared less. They did refund the money (once it returns of course...nevermind they cost me a ton of work and simply failed on a very simple thing...). I should have ordered from Amazon or anywhere else- they've never failed to deliver when needed. I simply cannot believe such a simple thing as Saturday delivery gets screwed up... I will never order from Fry's again.

I will never shop at Fry's Electronics ever again for computer components. Their unethical return policies and the indignations experienced by consumers at the hands of Fry's customer service *** are just not worth it.

I went to Fry's at lunch. They had a stcak of 19" Samsung flat panel displays with a big yellow $40 rebate sign.

The guy in front of me got 3 (with rebate $190). When I got to the register they said there was no rebate "in the computer".. I took the cashier back to the aisle where it came from and the sign was gone.. I talked to the "acting manager" and was told that the warranty was expired and they took the sign down..

That is a bait and switch if ever I saw one.. I wonder how many other of their "good deals" are expired?

Went to Fry's in Webster, Texas with a friend. We each bought an Aircard for our computers and one for my wife.

I do not live with my wife (she lives in an assisted living facility in Houston) and we have separate Sprint accounts, and my friend has his own account. The shelf price indicated that it was $299.99 with a $300 instant activation credit. All 3 were activated. We were charged $49.99 each for them.

I showed the manager the tag (Mr. Adrian Ortiz), and he told me he would give me the price, but not my wife, even though we each have our own accounts with Sprint. He claimed she would have to come in. Problem is, she is visually and mobility impaired and it would be difficult for her to come in to the store since none are located near her.

He did not care that she was disabled and would have a difficult time getting there and he claimed we were one customer. He also claimed that my friend must be getting the Aircard for me, since he was my friend. It did not matter that each of us had our own 2 year contract for the devices. I took the tag, and he wanted me to give it back to him.

I refused. He would then only give me the price if I gave the card back. I refused.

I plan to file a complaint based on the ADA for refusing to accommodate a disabled person. Probably will not shop at Fry's again, since they are making this such a hassle.

This is related to Fry's Electronics on Baseline and I-10 in Phoenix, AZ. On 12/21, I bought a King Kong massage chair with airbags (model 5522B, which has airbags) for a total of $2270.09 dollar. After paying the charge and waiting more than 30 min at the front...

I just had a very similar experience. I bought a TV they had on Black Friday which they said was in stock (a much higher end version than the version that everyone else was buying that sold out already). I sat through the Black Friday lines, and paid for the tv which we scheduled for delivery the next week. The day of delivery, they call up and say they do not have the TV in stock, but expected to get more that night or the following day. I waited a few days, and they never contacted me back. I called them again, and they said they still didn't receive any shipments, but expected one in about another week.

Right now I have no delivery confirmations, and have no idea if I am even going to get my TV. All in all, I paid around $3000 for my TV which has already been charged to my CC for about 2 weeks now, and there is no TV in sight.

I guess, bottom line, don't buy anything that needs to be shipped from Fry's... seems they have this all laid out so they can scam their customers. If you buy things onsite, be sure it is not used. Fry's like to repackage used items and sell as new.

I suggest buying a chair online from a company that offers a lot of manufacturers. They ship new chairs.
